Notes
A couple of things people noticed and gave positive feedback about in the app. First, they liked that the countdown didn’t start until the three opening bells finished. Many apps don’t do that. Second, they like that a pause button appears once the countdown has started. They also like the fact that the screen dims after five seconds of the countdown to save battery. In response to other feedback, we’ve made a few tweaks since the app launched.

Tweaks
1. The app will now run on older iPhones with a smaller form factor, including the iPhone SE.
2. Some people found a slider difficult to set the number of minutes they required accurately. So I have added haptic feedback. That means when you adjust the slider, you can feel it click for each minute. This is a little more precise on iPhones, as haptic feedback is built into the hardware.
3. Google announced at the beginning of August 2026 that any apps that did not display in landscape would be removed from the Play Store in six months. This is because foldable phones mainly work in landscape mode. So the app display now works in both landscape and portrait.
